Drill for Oil? Don’t even LOOK for Oil, Says Environmental Groups

Environmental groups across the nation once again display their animosity toward the American citizen by refusing to allow American oil companies explore for oil on our sovereign territory, and lobby to block any exploration of oil permanently off of Alaska’s North coast.

British Petroleum and Shell Oil received federal permits for work off Alaska’s north coast for seismic surveys there. Radical environmental groups filed a lawsuit blocking the work of these privately-held American and British firms in the U.S. District Court in Alaska; work that they spent $2.1 million in American shareholder money to gain the permits to perform the exploration.

The initial goals, according to the plaintiffs, is to stop the seismic surveys this summer, but Brendan Cummings, an attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, arrogantly claims “in the longer term, our goal is to see federal protection of the Beaufort, Chukchi and entire Arctic basin. Ideally, the next administration will recognize that global warming is real and prioritize the need for alternative energy, rather than these misguided projects.”

Brendan, for one, has yet to read the news and read that nearly all credible scientists have come to the table admitting that climate change has little to do with man’s footprint on this planet and more to do with natural cycles in planetary weather patterns and solar activity.

Despite the claims that the seismic exploration will wreak havoc on the local mammal population (primarily whales that local eskimo tribes are accustomed to hunt… Where’s PETA when you need them?). Shell spokesman Curtis Smith called the company’s previous seismic work in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas over the past two years “safe and environmentally responsible.”

“(They) were successfully completed without any recordable safety incidents or known negative impact to the environment or local communities,” Smith said. “We believe we can achieve that kind of success again in 2008.” And there’s no reason they cannot while providing Americans with continued sources of energy.

Despite the previous care oil companies have displayed in minimizing impact on local wildlife, Alaska Native and environmental groups have charged ahead with at least four lawsuits to block leasing, exploration and drilling.

So, my Fellow Americans, what does the ecological extremists and wildlife lobbies tell you with their actions, and not their words?

  • We don’t want you to explore for new oil
  • We don’t want you to drill for new oil
  • We don’t want you to refine the oil into gasoline, even if you do find it
  • We want you to depend on foreign, oppressive, and unstable governments to get our energy
  • We don’t care of you have to pay $4, $5, $8, $10 per gallon at the pump
  • We don’t care if your cost of living goes up in food, textiles, home ownership, etc.

It’s plain as day: the Environmental lobby wants to control you, control your energy, and control the profits of American companies owned by American citizens.

An American president, and American leadership throughout our nation, will fight for the right of our corporate citizens, citizens who employ tens of thousands of Americans. Especially those corporations which provide such an important service to our Nation. Every American citizen is affected by this nonsense, and it has to stop. Write your senator, congressman, and the White House and fight for the right to use the God-given natural resources available to the citizens of the United States of America.

The gas crisis is a manufactured crisis by a money-hungry government power structure, and power-hungry liberal socialist Marxists. Get mad, America… get mad enough to incite change. There is no reason gas needs to be $4 per gallon except for restrictive un-American policies. Tell your leaders that you will not re-elect them unless they do the work you pay them to do and protect the interests of our nation and its citizens, which include keeping money and energy security in our own hands.

Thanks for listening, America. And may God continue to Bless our nation.

There Are 4 Responses So Far. »

  1. It really is a crime to watch how our government makes it so difficult for American business to bring forth real solutions to
    the marketplace.

American Ingenuity made America great and will again in the future, however, this time our government will not be an asset.

    Very sad indeed.

  2. Our dependence on oil leads to devastating problems such as wars, economic recessions, environmental disasters, government special interest corruption, to name a few.

If Bush would have spent the 3.5+ trillion dollars (wasted on this useless Iraq war)on developing solar power, wind power, and geothermal power on a GRAND SCALE, we would not need to be so vulnerable to the whims of the filthy rich middle eastern countries that are now laughing at our economic demise (not to mention causing it). If all of a sudden there were no more oil, this country has the ambition and ingenuity to come up with other ways to provide what our citizens need, they may just need the financial backing to accomplish it BUSH.

Get the hell out of their land and come take care of ours, Mr. president. You are the one causing terrorist upheavals.

Quit setting your sites on Mexico and Canada for the NAU for yet another way to insure access to oil; while in the meantime you are selling out our country and dissolving our sovereinty. BUILD THE DAMN FENCE AND WE DON’T WANT IMMIGRATION REFORM-GET IT!; WE WANT TO ENFORCE OUR LAWS AND LIVE BY OUR CONSTITUTION!

  3. [...] But the communist backed environmentalists also want to further stop consumption of fossil fuel by stopping further exploration for oil. The title of this article says it best Drill for Oil? Don’t Even Look for Oil, Says Environmentalist Groups: [...]

  4. Great article Anthony.

It’s time we gullible American Christians wake up & call a spade a spade: Enviromentalism is the practical working out of a false religion, a rival to Christianity: Gaia (or ‘Mother Earth’) Worship.

Read Genesis; the Dominion Mandate is what God commanded Adam & Eve, and all Christians today are to continue that God ordained & commissioned Stewardship, to have Dominion, under Christ’s rule - see Isaiah 9:6-7 and Matthew 28:18-20, which confirm the nature of His command of the Earth (not soley heaven as many churches incorrectly teach) His grant of ‘All authority in heaven & on earth’ & our resultant commissioning to ‘go and make disciples of the nations, teaching them to obey all things whatsoever I have commanded you…’

Point is, that we try to argue against radical environmentalism pragmatically, that is from a ‘You won’t like the results of this bad idea…” standpoint, (and though we sure have evidence of that at $ 4.50 per gallon & rising fuel prices) that is the wrong founding premise to win the argument from.

Jesus said that He was ‘the way, the truth & the life….’ and the fact is that all we are, all we own & all our lives are at His command.

Properly understood, Biblically defined Christian stewardship & care of the earth & reasonable utilization of it’s resources is THE antidote to the false & acetic foolishness that is radical environmentalism, rooted in Gaia Worship.

It’s high time more Christians, churches & pastors begin ‘pulling back the curtin on the wizard’.

And if we don’t begin to use arguements that properly refute this false notion & in so doing honor Jesus Christ the LORD, he may just decide to let the glory depart from America, as he has with the other 26 world empires that once ruled the earth, and are now footnotes in history books.

Thanks for considering this viewpoint. You kinda hit a nerve with the above story so I couldn’t resist commenting.
