We Want Renewable Energy! (But Not Here!)
How long has the Republican RhINO clan and Democratic environmental jihadists chanted the “Alternative Energy” mantra, while time and time again refusing Americans access to our own petroleum and natural gas reserves in ANWAR, off the continental shelf, off the Gulf Coast, etc. etc. etc…. All the while, they continue vetoing clean-coal and nuclear plant development, and they force subsidizing through abusive tax laws the solar, wind, Ethanol, and “renewable” energy industry, which means higher prices at the pump, higher energy costs, and higher food prices for every American.
The irony is that while environmentalist “leaders” say they want renewable energy, we are seeing more and more evidence that few are “walking the talk”:
Last month Governor David Paterson (Democrat, N.Y.) refused an offshore terminal for offloading low-carbon liquefied natural gas (Read Here). Paterson claims the floating terminal would “industrialize” Long Island Sound, even though 17,000 vessels already carry 47 million tons of cargo every year through the Sound.
The Cape Wind project off Cape Cod has been opposed by Massachusetts’s Democratic Senators Ted Kennedy and John Kerry and other eco-evangelists (Read Here) whose greater interest is probably to have their ocean views unencumbered by those dirty, nasty, ugly windmills rather than supply clean power to their constituents.
Meanwhile, back on the mainland, activists mothballed wind farms in in California and Montana (Read Here). These farms could provide power to up to 93,000 homes (provided the wind is blowing, that is) but sorry, no wind power for you. Environmentalists also fret that the lines that carry power from wind farms may also carry power from (gasp) coal-fired power plants in the event of low wind conditions.
So, to all the liberal, democratic, RhINO folk who have bought into either the cult of environmentalism, and to those who desire the state of fascism that is necessary to control America to the degree they would like to (because environmentalist movement is not about the Earth: it’s about control) you’d all better saunter yourself up to the table and eat that cake you so desperately claim you wanted.

Masquerading Anti-American Bush Administration…
With an opportunity to empower America and Americans, president Bush once again has proven that he is NOT was he appears to be.

Clean coal is really a myth. Coal itself contains pollutants–plain and simple. If you can remove them, that product will burn somewhat cleaner, but what do you do with those pollutants you removed, including heavy metals like mercury. You can’t magically make them disappear.
Also, nuclear power is generated by producing steam to turn large turbines which generate power. Fine, except that the steam is produced by inserting radioactive isotopes into water, converting the H20 into H30 or heavy water. What do you want to do with the radioactive water?
Finally, the opposition to wind farms is idiotic, inexplicable, and frankly inexcusable if we are ever going to break our dependence on oil–not just foreign oil, but oil and other non-renewable sources.
Honestly, I can understand the Not In My Back Yard arguments when we are talking about harmful pollutants, but if you place a higher priority on your ocean view, you might just get that ocean view. In fact, you might get a closer view of the ocean than you wanted.

Hey Shak! Thanks for your input!
All I will say about clean coal right now, as time is escaping me, is that Yes, everything regarding energy production produces emissions. The question is, are we going to be responsible about it?… Clean Coal is a ready, viable step forward, and as Hillary told us all, we are “the Saudi Arabia of Coal”… we can generate power for GENERATIONS on our coal reserves, and have responsible impact on the environment.
re, Nuclear disposal of Heavy Water, I believe heavy Water is used as a coolant in nuclear reactors, so you don’t dispose of it… Anywho… The argument stands that Nuclear is safe, effective, efficient, and like any other industry, has wastes that have to be addressed, and are addressed every single day.
If the opposition to wind farms is idiotic, then PLEASE write, call or email your local politicians who are making us build the wind farms to build transmission lines! Wind power is no good if you can’t build transmission lines! If those namby-pamby NIMBYs will walk their talk, they can get their wind power… You can’t have it both ways!
…until, that is, they realize wind power will only generate 2% of their power needs, and that’s only when the wind is blowing! (an argument for even more politicians!)
Running an industrialized nation requires POWER. Even if we took every square inch of available real-estate in the United States and dropped a windmill farm on it, it would NOT replace our current power needs (even if you replace all the soon-to-be defunct ethanol-farms)
Take care, and God Bless!

There is no such thing as “clean” coal.
