Will the Real Republican Party Please Stand Up?

My Fellow Americans…

The Nation spoke this week, and they have decided to put the most liberal person in the United States Senate into the most powerful position in World Government - President of the United States of America. For better or or for worse, the people will have four years of a commander in chief trying to, if he actually attempts to pursue his campaign promises, introduce grand Socialist ideologies into the United States of America, following in the sullen footsteps of Europe and South America.

Naturalized Americans from these very countries have been reeling on the Radio waves since Wednesday, lamenting the fact that the world they escaped in order to come to America, the Land of Opportunity, is following them in short order. May God Bless the United States of America, and may He steer the leaders he put into power to maintain the Great American Experiment. Our nation must pray, difficult as it may be, for president-elect Barack Hussein Obama, that he lead his country well.

The people have spoken; and moderate, compassionate, social conservatism, a shadow of its former self, does not fly. The Grand Old Party of today is not the GOP of our forefathers. The Republican Party has compromised the call of standing on principle to the call of the Focus Group. They have subjugated standing for the truth in the face of opposition to pandering to the mob. They have attempted to cater to the writhing throng by “reaching across the aisle” when they should have stood the good, hard ground and call liberal ideologues to the carpet.

John McCain said he would rather lose an election than compromise on his principles and lose the war in Iraq. Well, he lost this election because he compromised his principles. Maybe it wasn’t his fault… Maybe his advisor’s pushed him too hard to become “like the other guy” because Obama was winning the throng with his fine oratory. Well, compromising principle did not gain the party votes, but it did dilute their ability to stand like a light on a hill to a county looking for answers.

But maybe we are not looking for answers. Maybe, like the Israelites of the Old Testament, who rejected the God of their fathers in favor of an earthly king, maybe we are looking to elect a king. Maybe we yearn to be like “the other nations” rather than stand and trust in the principles that got us to where we were, a nation blessed by the God they followed.

Americans, take heed: the echo of history reverberates with country after country that has fallen to socialist and communist ideologues. Why do we not learn from history? Why must we spiral down to a certain unbearable point before we see the error or our ways? It’s part of the human condition, as outlined in the passage I referenced above from 1 Samuel 8:

“So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking for a king from him. He said, “These will be the ways of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and appoint them to his chariots and to be his horsemen and to run before his chariots. And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and some to plow his ground and to reap his harvest, and to make his implements of war and the equipment of his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive orchards and give them to his servants. He will take the tenth of your grain and of your vineyards and give it to his officers and to his servants. He will take your male servants and female servants and the best of your young men and your donkeys, and put them to his work. He will take the tenth of your flocks, and you shall be his slaves. And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”

So, to the point: This is my open letter to the Republican Party, what was once the voice of the conservative, small-government, low taxes, personal prosperity, minimal intrusion, and maximum opportunity in the United States of America: You have four years to reform; four years to mobilize; four years to capitalize on the opportunity that awaits: to become the party of principal once again. To take a stand for the voice of America. The question stands: will you be willing to become the party of principle again, and be willing to take a stand again, and be there when the American people, like the Israelites of old, see the folly of their ways… again?

You can see that conservative America is still alive: This week we watched the voice of the people rule in California, supposedly a bastion of liberalism, as they opposed homosexual marriage. Affirmative Action laws (which are racist in nature in that they assume blacks and other minorities aren’t smart enough to qualify for jobs on their own merit) are being banned in more and more states. Reports show that most Americans oppose abortion. If the Republican Party once again becomes the Party of Principle, you will regain America’s trust and turn this nation around.

In four years, if the liberal Democratic agenda has its way, the people of the United States, like the people of Israel in Samuel’s time, will cry out for a deliverer. Will the Republican Party be there to accept the call? Will the party be one that stands on principle, or will they be more of what consultants tell them to be? it hasn’t worked in the past… it will not work in the future. When the American people make the call (at three a.m.?) … will you be there to answer?

May God Bless the United States of America, and all its leaders who are charged with her care.

Thanks for listening…

-Anthony

  1. Hey, I saw your site listed in Urbanconservative. Would you consider subscribing/linking to my site? http://thenewrepublicans.net. I appreciate it very much.

  2. Correct–The Republican Party has set aside principle and the desire to fight for what is right instead of what is preffered. A clear example of this was their lack of attacking Obama on several fronts, not wishing to draw pressure from the Media–after all, they would be attacking the Media Darling. Instead they chose to remain “Honorable”, which allowed them to be nothing more than a “Punching Bag”–The Democrats proved to be quite the opposite with their attacks on Palin, fueled by a “Star Struck” Media. The Republican Party needs to get back to the Party that cared for the people, not what was popular with the Media, the compromise your principles is not working–nor should it.

  3. Gotta get elected before you can exercise power. Protecting the people who give us money by bailing out private companies and banks is not compromise. It’s necessity. A principaled party would refuse their money but the Dem’s are raising money hand over fist.

  4. Hey Steven (The New Republican)

I am happy to provide a link to your site. Thanks for your interest of reinventing the Republican party. I look forward to reading your site’s posts and commenting when I have $.02 (or any sense!)

God Bless, and Good luck to you and your staff!

  5. Well, here we are a couple of months later. First 8 days the guy signs 5 executive orders. Bankrupts the treasury. Appoints lobbyists and tax cheats, and repeatedly lies to the American people. All we have folks is faith, hope, and love. Let’s pray and stay positive. God Bless America.
